EASTVIEW HIGH SCHOOL NAMES NEW HEAD BOYS HOCKEY COACH
APPLE VALLEY, MN- Eastview High School Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Athletics Matt Percival has announced the hiring of Aaron Fulton as the new Head Boys Hockey Coach for the 2020-21 season. Fulton will replace Drey Bradley who recently retired from his head coaching duties after an outstanding career behind the bench, including the last 13 years as the head coach of the Lightning.
Coach Fulton brings a wealth of coaching experience to Eastview. He began his coaching career in the St. Cloud Youth Hockey Association system where he spent 4 years coaching the Bantams. From there he spent 5 years at Mounds View, three as the Bantam A Head Coach and the last two as a Varsity Assistant. The last 7 years were spent at the AA Bantam level as the Head Coach for the Centennial Cougars, where they appeared in 2 MN Hockey State tournaments and won 3 VFW State Championships. He is also involved in the Minnesota Hockey High Performance Program and has spent the last 5 years coaching and running the HP 14’s and 15’s for D6. He is currently a USHL Scout for the Chicago Steel and was also just named the coach for the Minnesota Blades Boy’s 15U Fall Tier 1 Program.
The oldest of 5, Fulton grew up in a competitive family that was highly active in youth and high school sports. In high school, Fulton was a three-sport athlete for Champlin Park High School in Champlin, MN. He was a two-year letter winner in football, hockey, and baseball. In his senior year, he was awarded All-Conference in all three sports.
Fulton graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Sports Management in 2006. He currently resides in Blaine, with his wife Annie, and his 3 children, Ryann (13), Emmy (3), and Charlie (1).
We will be arranging a “Virtual” Meet and Greet opportunity in the near future for all Eastview Hockey Families to meet Coach Fulton and hear him share some of his ideas and plans for the upcoming months as well as the 2020-21 season. Stay tuned for an exact date and time.
Quote from Coach Fulton:
“I could not be more humbled and honored to become a part of the Eastview family. Hockey has been such a big and influential part of my life, as well as my families, and the game has taught me many valuable life lessons along the way. I’m fortunate to be able to continue to give back to the game I love and be able to pass on some of these life lessons to the boys in the Eastview Hockey Program.”
Quote from AD Matt Percival:
“We are beyond excited to have Coach Fulton join the Eastview High School and Lightning Hockey community. The interview and selection process for a new coach was extremely competitive as we were blessed to have some incredible candidates interested in leading the Eastview program. What stuck out about Aaron was his leadership experience and communication strategies around developing relationships with each student athlete in the high school program as well as the youth community. At Eastview we use our “Puzzle Pieces as our Guiding Principles and Core Values and strongly believe that Coach Fulton will instill these in every part of the Eastview Hockey Community for years to come. “
